Ed gave an overview of our 50/50 draw campaign at the November 20. meeting.

Details are outlined below.

Nanaimo North 50/50 Draw Summary

· We now have the license for our 50/50 draw (BC Gaming Event License #48868)

· Tickets are $5.00 each and we can sell 4000 of them for gross receipts of $20.000.00 and a prize of $10,000.00

· The draw will take place at 7:30 PM on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at the Old City Station Pub at a Rotary North Beer and Burger event.

· Members of the Rotary Club of Nanaimo North are not eligible to win but their friends and family members are definitely eligible

 

·         Club members can purchase tickets - they just can’t put their own name on the stub – i.e. they can buy tickets as gifts for friends or family members or buy them and put the name of their favorite charity on the stub

·         Tickets will be available by Friday November 23, 2012 and we can sell them from then until the draw on Tuesday March 19, 2013

Note – The period from Nov 23 until sometime in the new year will be a “soft launch” period during which tickets can be sold by any club members and partners who wish to do so (think stocking stuffers) – the more intense sale period will begin in the new year and the fundraising committee will be presenting a sales strategy for discussion by the club in a few weeks (after Citrus is put to bed)

·         The draw must be controlled/run by a Board member; there are various guidelines and requirements that we must follow in any promotion or advertising and we must submit a report and accounting within 90 days after the event.

·         Funds raised must be deposited into the Club’s Gaming account and used for purposes eligible for Gaming funds
