Our club has scheduled a vision facilitation for Saturday October 16th , 11 am – 3 pm..

Club Visioning was initiated in District 5960 in 2002. The program has expanded beyond the Minnesota-Wisconsin based district to where Joe Kovarik, along with Dick Elixman and six other members of the now International Vision Facilitation Committee (IVFC), have trained facilitators on how to apply the Visioning process with their local clubs in the US, Canada, New Zealand & Australia.

Past president Bud & I took the facilitation training in Courtenay last September. We were fortunate to have Joe Kovarik [Past President, RC St Paul Mn] and Dick Elixman [Past District Governor D5100 Oregon] as leaders. Since then, I have been on facilitation teams for the Comox, Courtenay and Campbell River Daybreak clubs. It has been satisfying for me to help clubs generate ideas and come to a consensus on what they want to be in 5 years.

For our visioning exercise, a team of facilitators from other Rotary Clubs will guide the process. In a four hour session, a Club Vision Facilitation helps a Rotary Club achieve continuity, consistency and consensus. The facilitation session is intended for all interested Rotarians in our club-from our newest members to our most tenured. The breadth and depth of the facilitation exercise is optimized when club leaders (past, present and future) and member opinion leaders participate.
