Bruce Coleman honoured at Coast Bastion June 12

The luncheon was held at the Coast Bastion hotel in Nanaimo to pay tribute to Bruce Coleman for his many years of service to Rotary. Emcee Bill Robinson introduced a number of guest speakers including Mayor John Ruttan and Lee Mason, CEO of the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce.  Several Rotarians and former Rotarians also brought their congratulations and best wishes.

 

 

 Assistant Governor Brenda Grice presented a Distinguished Service Citation signed by Governor Bob Martin and president Craig (see photo below).  President Craig gave Bruce a letter signed by members of the eight clubs in our district which Bruce helped to establish.

 

Bruce joined the Rotary Club of Nanaimo in 1952 and became president in 1968-69.   Bruce helped establish our club and became a founding member in 1972.  He was named Rotarian of the Year 3 times between 1974 and 2002,  a testament to his continued passion for service.
