Project Summary
Abesim is a fast growing town within the Sunyani Municipality in Ghana. The municipality together with the community has put up a Library Complex next to a primary school to enhance teaching and learning in the school and the community. After completion of the complex, stocking the library with books has become a problem. The library is currently understocked with outdated books and as a result it cannot fulfill its objective of enhancing teaching and learning in the community. The patronage of the library has been discouraged since its opening. The Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive and the Sunyani Municipal Assembly has been appealing for support to stock the library complex since the spring of 2010 when Rotarians from District 5020 started work on a security wall at the Sunyani Central Primary School.

This Project will service the community of approximately 8,000 residents and the adjacent school of 300 students. The learning of the community will be enhanced significantly by having access to books on school subjects as well as books related to environmental education.
