Shop and dine downtown for charity

 On Saturday, May 28 you can make a big difference in the community and you can have fun doing it!

If you like to shop and enjoy Nanaimo’s dining experience here’s a way to do both for a whole day while supporting many of Nanaimo North’s Rotary charitable causes.

For only $20 you can pick up a Shop and Dine Downtown coupon that will allow you to receive up to 20% off at 20 participating downtown businesses and restaurants.  The coupon, which is available at select locations, is your passport to savings while discovering downtown Nanaimo and ultimately helping ventures in the community that include:  youth programs, youth bursaries, local food programs as well as school events.

“This one day event allows people to explore and enjoy a variety of shops and eating opportunities knowing that, not only are they supporting our local businesses, but most importantly, they are assisting programs that touch so many elements of our community,” said Jim Turley, Nanaimo North Rotary spokesperson.

 

The coupons are available now and can be purchased at:  The Coast Bastion Hotel front desk, Nanaimo Museum Gift Shop, Nanaimo Bar Pop Up, Elizabeth’s Lingerie and Turley’s Florist.  “Premier sponsors are offering 20% everything in their stores while Friends of Rotary sponsors are promoting 20% off selected items,” explained Turley.  “There’s something for everyone and whether you’re looking for that special gift, garment, piece of furniture or just wanting to enjoy a great meal; you won't be disappointed.”
